Kevin De Bruyne to Depart Manchester City at End of 2024–25 Season

Manchester City’s legendary midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will part ways with the club at the end of the 2024–25 season, marking the end of a glittering chapter in both his career and the club’s history.

De Bruyne, 33, has been a cornerstone of Manchester City since his arrival in 2015. Over ten seasons, the Belgian playmaker has made 413 appearances, scored 106 goals, and delivered 174 assists across all competitions. His vision, passing range, and leadership helped guide the club to an incredible haul of 19 major trophies—including six Premier League titles and one UEFA Champions League triumph.

The decision to leave comes as his contract nears its conclusion, with De Bruyne expressing his desire to embrace a new challenge in the latter stage of his career. While his next destination has not been officially confirmed, speculation points to interest from Major League Soccer, Saudi Arabia, and top European clubs such as Juventus.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has paid glowing tribute to De Bruyne, backing calls for a statue to be erected outside the Etihad Stadium. “Kevin is a once-in-a-generation player. What he has given to this club is beyond statistics,” Guardiola said in a recent interview.

In an emotional statement, De Bruyne thanked the club, his teammates, and the fans, calling Manchester his family’s second home. “This club has been everything to me. I leave with nothing but love and pride,” he said.

De Bruyne will continue to play a key role for City in the remaining months of the season, as the club pushes for further silverware. His farewell will be one of the most poignant moments in recent Premier League memory.

End of an Era. Beginning of a Legacy.
